Non-State Actress Special Additions #4: Say Anything with Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma
Ok well, *ask* anything.
Welcome to Non-State Actress Special Additions, which are just slightly different from regular NSA issues. Still written by me, Maggie Feldman-Piltch and still [mostly] about national security but not boring. This Special Addition offers readers a chance to submit questions for the Deputy Secretary of State. We’ll answer those questions in a video! How cool!
Review: Take a look at past issues of Non-State Actress here.
BLUF
I am recording a 45-minute video with Richard Verma, the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, aka the Chief Operating Officer of the State Department1, early next month. His team is allowing me to publicly solicit questions! Nothing is too simple or too complex - I will be asking both about how boundary changes caused by climate change in places like the Arctic impacts diplomacy and what kind of skincare routine he uses for all these trips and long nights. So ask away!
Press Play
I do my best thinking to music, and offer you this lovely “thinking” playlist.
Wait, What? Who?
As much as I desperately want to explain who this person is, how this happened, why I’m doing it, and what to expect, I honestly do not have time 😂. Also, that’s the whole point of the videos. So instead, I’ll say this:
If you’ve ever had a question for The US Government, this is your chance to ask it.
Are lizard people real?
What does the State Department do and is it exactly like Office Space (kidding!!!)?
How did Michelle Kwan become an Ambassador?
Can I be an Ambassador?
Why is it taking so long to get my passport renewed?
It is your time to shine.
Ask *whatever* you want using this form.
Gimme Me More
I’m not going to give you too much more, because then you won’t watch our videos! 😬
